The D2 Super Bowl featured an exciting matchup between two outstanding teams as the Newburgh Goldbacks took on the Cornwall Dragons. Newburgh entered the championship undefeated at 11–0, while Cornwall came in strong at 9–1 heading into the title game.
From the opening kickoff, the game was physical and competitive. Cornwall showed grit and determination, battling hard throughout, but Newburgh’s speed and physicality proved to be a difficult challenge to overcome. The Goldbacks consistently set the tone on both sides of the ball, pulling away in a tough, hard-fought championship victory.
An impressive finish to the season and a well-earned championship for Newburgh, with tremendous effort and sportsmanship shown by both teams. Congratulations to all the D2 athletes on an excellent season!
