Tackle Football Program

The Orange County Youth Football League (OCYFL) offers a comprehensive tackle football program designed to introduce young athletes to the sport and help them grow through progressive levels of play. Our league is divided into four age-based divisions, each with age-appropriate rules and a focus on development, safety, and sportsmanship.

Mighty Mites (Ages 6–7)

Our entry-level division introduces young players to the fundamentals of tackle football in a fun, instructional environment.

• No scorekeeping to emphasize learning and teamwork.

• Season concludes with the exciting Mighty Bowl, a friendly tournament to celebrate the players’ progress.

Division 1 (Ages 8–9)

This competitive division blends player development with team competition.

• Modified rules help players transition into full-field play.

• Includes a full season of games, playoffs, and a championship game.

Division 2 (Ages 10–11)

Designed for older youth, this division mirrors high school rules more closely, with a few safety modifications.

• No kickoffs, and other rules adapted for youth safety.

• Features regular season play, playoffs, and a championship.

Division 3 (Ages 12–13)

Our most advanced division prepares players for high school football.

• Full high school rules are in effect.

• Teams compete for league standings, playoffs, and the Division 3 Championship.
